- Strayer University – Another university intended to help with adult education, Strayer offers both a local campus and online education. The Baymeadows campus in Jacksonville offers classes in areas of study like education, accounting, and public administration. Strayer charges $1515 per course.
- University of North Florida – This public school has five separate colleges located on a natural preserve. It was name one of the best 139 colleges in the Southeast by the Princeton Review. Enrolling over 14,000 students, UNF charges $135 per credit hour for Florida residents.
- Virginia College at Jacksonville -This school opened its doors to students in April 2009 as a branch campus of Virginia College, founded in 1982. Depending on how many classes you take and which program you enroll in, tuition costs between $2,500 and $4,500 per quarter.
- Nova Southeastern University – NSU is the seventh largest, non-profit, independent university. While the main campus is in southern Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville has a student educational center which has bachelor’s and master’s programs, as well as a specialist and doctoral degree for education. Tuition runs at $19,335 for in-state students and $21,225 otherwise.
- Flagler College – Located in St. Augustine, Flagler College is less than an hour away from Jacksonville. It offers areas of study in the liberal arts, sciences, business, and education. With only 2,500 students, Flagler charges $13,860 for a year of tuition. Room and board add an addition $6,800 for the year.
- Edward Waters College – Historically a black college, this college is the oldest private institution of higher education in Florida state.
